John Rabotski, age 92, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the New Glarus Home.  He was born on May 7, 1933 in Croatia, the son of Djuro and Ana (Rudin) Rabotski.  He attended school in Borovo, Croatia.  John met Maria Adam in Germany, they were united in marriage in April 1956, later that year they immigrated to the United States.  John proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army. 

John trained in Europe as a Master Machinist.  When he came to the United States he attended both Chicago Technical College and later Rock Valley College earning his degree as a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer.  He was the owner and operator of Design Engineering Services in Sheboygan.  He then worked for Oscar Meyer for nearly ten years; during his time there he designed and obtained several patents. He was a member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church. 

John is survived by his children, Ed (Sandy) Rabotski of Monroe and Mary (Don) Gajewski of Westby; grandchildren, Eva Gajewski, Nicole (Skyler) Carlino, Jason Rabotski, and Shannon Rabotski; sister, Anna Sutter; step-sister, Esther (Wolfgang) and Vera (Wilfried) both of Germany, and sister-in-law, Elke Heln-Tordinac.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; step-brother, Paul Tordinac; and brother-in-law, Jack Sutter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Victor’s Catholic of St. Clare of Assisi Parish with Father Joseph Bellamkonda as celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo Township.

A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
