John M. Rowin, age 71 of Monroe passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Monroe Hospice Home. He was born the son of John and Anna (Gehrke) Rowin on June 6, 1950 in Stoughton. He attended Evansville High School. 

John served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from GM after 30 years. John enjoyed riding his Harley’s and classic cars. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Janesville. 

John is survived by his mother, Anna Rowin of Monroe; children, Kristi Ackerman of Edgerton, Kevin Rowin of Janesville; grandson, Jeffrey Rowin; sisters, Beverly Moen, Ruth (Robert) Kohn, and Sheryl (James) Thorp all of Monroe; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and nephews, Mark Moen, Robert Kohn Jr., Matthew Thorp, and Timothy Thorp. 

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Twining Valley Community Room, 700 8th Ave. Monroe, WI 53566. Private burial was held at Greenwood Cemetery.
