Jerry E. Boss, age 61 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with T-PLL Leukemia. He was born on March 23, 1963 in Monroe, the son of Eugene & Genevieve (Miller) Boss. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1981. Jerry married Jackie Goonan-Millner on July 6, 2008 in Door County. Jerry was the 3rd generation to farm at the Boss Family Farm and was proud to work the land with his own hands.

To know Jerry was to call him your friend. He was always the instigator, and a great story-teller. He enjoyed slow-pitch softball, bowling, fishing, deer hunting, playing cards and watching the Packer game. Jerry & Jackie hosted eight foreign exchange students over the years that became his extended family. His grandchildren knew him as Papa and Papa could fix anything with a little ingenuity or one of his great hugs.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Monroe; children: Jacob (Marci) Boss, Joshua Boss, Janean (Anthony) Boss-Anderson, all of Monroe, and Mitch Millner of Bristol, SD; grandchildren: Elena, Emily, Easton, Hadley, Jaxston and another to arrive soon; and many close relatives & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Hickey; son, Jeremy; grandson, Noah; nieces, Anya Teasdale and Jennifer Goonan; and his parents-in-law, Frank & Dorothy Goonan. The family would like to give a special thanks to UW Carbone Cancer Center & Dr. Kenkre, NP Amy, and their team, and St. Croix Hospice and their nurses, Emily & Brittany, for all of their great care.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating.

Immediately following service will be a burial in Greenwood cemetery and a luncheon for family and friends. A visitation will be held Friday, October 4 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be named in Jerry’s honor to “UW Carbone Cancer Center” and “St. Croix Hospice”.
