Jeffrey Scott Williams

Jeffrey Scott Williams, age 68, of rural Monroe, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at SSM Health Hospice Home in Monroe, Wisconsin. He was born on October 14, 1955 to Harry and Eileen (Swanton) Williams in Monroe, Wisconsin. Jeff attended Hiawatha Grade School and graduated from Monroe High School Class of 1974. The entire Williams family was active in showing beef cattle and quarter horses in 4-H and FFA.  Their farm was named Log Point Hereford Farm because the farmhouse was a four room log cabin built in 1846 by Mordecai Kelly, Sr., one of the founding families of Green County. Through the years, he helped his family run the farm by assisting with planting and harvesting strip crops and caring for the registered Hereford cattle and quarter horses they raised. He loved doing field work with his John Deere tractors and equipment over the years. He was also very proud of his Pennsylvania Dutch, German, Irish and Swiss Heritage. Jeff was very fond of watching PBR and rodeos on RFD-TV along with his favorite western movies.

Jeff worked for Hare-Hensel Fast Freight Quarter Horse Ranch in Cadiz Township for many years; the home of Ben Cody and Hank-A-Chief, both famous Quarter Horse Stallions. He owned many favored quarter horses during his life and loved to take his horses on trail rides in Wisconsin and Illinois.  He enjoyed snowmobiling on the northern Wisconsin Trails, and loved listening to country music.

Jeff later worked for Green Valley Disposal Company, Inc. in Monroe as a Rolloff and Residential CDL Driver.  He took pride in his work, service and safety record with the company.

Surviving siblings include sisters, Barbara Dawn Williams-Meyer of Elroy, Wisconsin and Deborah Ellen Ritzert-Eichoff of Warrensburg, Illinois; nephew, Howard (Samantha) Ritzert, and great-nephews, Tanner and Logan Ritzert all of Decatur, Illinois, nephew, Stuart (Cindy) Ritzert, and great-niece, Taylor (Corgan Bailey) Wilson and great-nephew, Camryn Ritzert all of Beloit, Wisconsin; as well as his aunt, Vera Aebly and her daughter, Sharon (George) Crase of Freeport, Illinois; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Lura Williams, Earl and Sylvia Swanton, parents Harry and Eileen (Swanton) Williams, and a "special" uncle Cpl. Clyde R. Williams, U. S. Marine Corp. killed in action at The Battle of Tarawa 11-22-43 and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Burial will take place following service in Kelly-Franklin Cemetery, Cadiz Township, Green County, Browntown, Wisconsin.
