It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Marie Eminger.
Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, Jeanne grew up in a lively home with five brothers and sisters. At 17, she met Gerald “Jerry” Eminger, the love of her life and her lifelong best friend. They eloped just six months later, beginning a 57 year journey of unwavering partnership and devotion.
Together, Jeanne and Jerry raised two daughters, Tricia Eminger and Kimberlee (Eminger) Paul, and built a life rooted in family, loyalty and togetherness. Jeanne passed on her quiet strength to each of her daughters.
Jeanne found joy in life’s simple pleasures: reading, crossword puzzles and baking for her loved ones. She loved a good game of Scrabble or Candy Crush and long afternoons on the porch with Jerry, chatting with neighbors and watching the world go by. When she was younger she enjoyed target shooting and fishing (but only if Jerry baited her hooks!). But her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren - Kaylin Eminger, Tyler Keepers, Zoey Keepers, and step-granddaughter Emily Paul - who brought out her warmest, gentlest side.
Jeanne is survived by her husband; daughters; grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Meeker and Ken Meeker; and sister, Mary Lou (Meeker) Fredrickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Meeker; her brothers, Terrence Meeker and Peter Meeker; and her sister, Linda Meeker.
Jeanne will be remembered with love and gratitude. She is already greatly missed.
A private remembrance will be held by on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th Street, Monroe. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
