Jeaneen Benson, age 78 of Darlington, WI passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, WI. She was born March 18, 1942 in Darlington the daughter of Herman and Myrtle (Thorson) Halvorson. Jeaneen was born and raised in Darlington and spent her entire life there. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Benson, on June 14, 1959 at Darlington United Methodist Church in Darlington. Jeaneen was the proud owner of Neenee’s Place and dedicated her working years to making her business succeed.

Jeaneen is survived by her grandchildren: Mindy (Steven) Judkins of Darlington and Shawn Benson of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law: Debra Benson of Darlington; her great-grandchildren: Tyler, Dustin, Chasity, Devan, Patti, Kimlynn, Silas, and Robby; one brother: Clinton Halvorson of Darlington; one sister: Melva “Lolly” (Henry) Tschanz of Monroe; and one sister-in-law: Sharon Halvorson of Darlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert, one day after her death; parents; one son: Kim Benson; three brothers: Sylvester, Edward, and Eldon Halvorson and one brother in infancy; two sisters: Arlene Heins and Idellis McKillip; and one granddaughter: Adalynn Judkins.

Jeaneen was a member of Darlington United Methodist Church in Darlington, the Lafayette Manor Auxiliary, the Darlington Antique Club and volenteered with many other orginazation. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and ceramics. Jeaneen cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, bonus grandchildren; Will, Lizzie and Jaycie Schwartz and the memories they created together. She also cherished her special friendships with her Monday night ceramic ladies and church sawing group. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A public visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington). The family will not be present for the visitation.  However, they invite friends and family to pay their respects during the allotted time of the visitation. A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Erickson Funeral Home with Rev. Angela Utter of Darlington United Methodist Church officiating.
