Jason M. & Teigen Richardson
Jason and Teigen Richardson

Jason M. Richardson, age 27 and his 3-year-old daughter Teigen Richardson tragically lost their lives on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, due to injuries they sustained in an automobile accident. Jason was born July 24, 1996, in Platteville, WI the son of Scott F. Richardson and Angela K. Miesen. Jason grew up in the Belmont, WI area and graduated from Belmont High School. After high school, he proudly started working as a dairyman, working for the Buss, Kamps, Opitz, Nodolf, and most recently the Kundert Family Farms. His love for farming came directly from his maternal grandparents who instilled what it meant to work hard and be proud of your work.

Jason married the love of his life, Leane E. Dammen on July 20, 2019, at the Monroe Art Center in Monroe, WI. Together they built a family, 3 girls (Natalie, Sienna, and Teigen) and 1 boy (Landon) with another one on the way and showed them all what unconditional love was.

Teigen Ilyse Richardson, the third girl in the family, was born December 20, 2019, in Platteville. Teigen was Jason and Leane’s dare devil child. She always knew what she wanted and was just stubborn enough to convince her bigger sisters or her parents into getting it for her. Natalie and Sienna were her best friends and she always looked up to them. Teigen was always on the go keeping herself busy, swimming, dancing and singing.   Although feisty, she always had a softer side and knew how to steal your heart by snuggling up and giving her love to her favorite people.

Jason’s passion for farming never wavered. He was a member of the Belmont 4-H group and the Cattle Association. He was proud of his hard work on the farm and always enjoyed showing his cows at different shows throughout the area. He enjoyed taking trips to the beach with his family and listening to the waves crash against the shore. Some of his favorite days were spent rangering with Leane, shopping to pick up whatever he needed, singing, or simply sitting by a campfire roasting marshmallows and making smores.  Jason also had a love for baking and was very particular on making sure he had understood the instructions and had the exact ingredients – claiming it was important to teach his girls how to cook and follow directions. He was known by his family for his famous tater tot casserole and apple pie drinks.  Jason was one of the most genuine, caring, and generous individuals you would have had the pleasure of knowing. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and always made sure you left a conversation with a smile.
