Janice Rae Flannery, 87, of Argyle, WI passed from this life to eternal life at CrestRidge MemoryCare in Dodgeville, WI on September 13, 2025.

 

Janice was born January 21,1938 to Raymond and Ruby (Larson) Berget. Janice graduated from South Wayne High School in 1956. Janice was united in marriage to James P. Flannery on October 4, 1958, at St Johns Catholic Church in South Wayne. They were blessed with five children Marco, Lori, Steven, Robert and Todd. Jim and Janice farmed for several years in Adams Township before moving to the outskirts of Argyle. The Argyle house was always a welcoming place for their children and grandchildren.

 

 Survivors include her children Marco (Marlene) Flannery, Lori (Dan) Bredeson, Steven (Sandra) Flannery, Robert (Angie) Flannery and Todd (Lisa) Flannery. Eleven grandchildren Lance (Katie) Flannery, Shauna (Mallan) Schwantes, Brittany (Clint) Stietz, Heidi (Matt) Schwantes, Kyle (Lindsey) Bredeson, Kevin Flannery, Sarah (Kyle) Flannery, Caitie Flannery, Alivia Flannery, Rebecca Flannery, Jacob Flannery, 10 great grandchildren, her twin sister Janet Flannery, 6 sister in laws Betty Jane Cullen, Rosemary Phelps, Helen Lawinger-Regan, Marilyn Flannery, Teresa (Gary) Waage, Barb Berget, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her husband James P Flannery, her mother and father, her brothers Roger Berget, Terry Berget, a sister in law Agnes Berget, brother in laws Robert Cullen, Wayne Phelps, Bob Lawinger, Bob Regan, John F. Flannery, Dean Flannery and Charles Penniston.

 

Janice was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Argyle. She enjoyed travel, country music, spending time with her family, cooking and baking. She was known for her wonderful cooking, generous servings and special recipes. She had a special bond with each of her children and grandchildren. Janice and her twin sister Janet had a twin sister bond that can only be described as pure love. They were lifelong best friends. Janice will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

 

The family would like to express their appreciation for the outstanding care provided by the staff of CrestRidge Memory Care. They also appreciate Agrace Hospice helping with Janice’s comfort the last months of her life.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. At St. Joseph's Catholic Church (301 N. Lafayette St., Argyle, WI 53504) with Fr. Garrett Kau and Fr. David Flanagan con-celebrating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Argyle. A visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:15 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
