Janice P. Stites, age 82, of Orangeville passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at her home. She was born the 11th child of 22 children of Fred and Edith (Bailey) Schoville on February 26, 1939 in Soldiers Grove, WI. Janice married James Stites on March 9, 1957 in Afton, WI.

Janice attended school in Soldiers Grove, she became a CNA in 1979, and spent many years working at St. Clare Hospital. She loved attending church at Red Oak United Methodist Church in Red Oak, IL. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and tending to her flower beds and garden. Janice always put her role as a mother and grandmother first.

Janice is survived by her children, Julie (Tom) Ohms of Apple River, IL, Jeanne Mueller of Janesville, WI, Jim (Mary) Stites of Orangeville, IL, Jonathan Stites of Orangeville, IL, Jack (Jody) Stites of Wyanet, IL, Jeff (Dorothy) Stites of Orangeville, IL, and Jill Melland of Monroe, WI; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ronnie (Ruth) Schoville of Beloit, WI and Steve (Vicki) Schoville of Warren, IL; 3 sisters, Annabelle (Bernard) Burwitz of Beloit, WI, Sharon (Hoyt) Smith of Niota, TN, and Susan Kane of Stoughton, WI; close friend, Claribel Hottman of Mazomanie, WI; brothers-in-law, Roscoe Davis of Orangeville, IL and Ronald Stites of Cottage Grove, WI; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons-in-laws, Randy Holland and Tom Melland; sisters, Marjorie Carlin, Lola Carachrioti, Betty Roland, Phyllis Fairchild, Donna Stluka, Patsy Shipler, Karen Foell, and Linda Folgate; brothers, Junior Schoville, Marlin Schoville, Larry Schoville, Fredrick Schoville, Robert Schoville, Gary Schoville, Charles Schoville, Randy Joe Schoville; sister-in-law, Marlene Davis; as well as numerous extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 9, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, in Monroe with Pastor Gary Rich officiating.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 4pm at the funeral home. Continued visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be made to Red Oak United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in Orangeville Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
