She spent most of her adult life in Savanna, IL raising her children, being a farmwife and working in the loans department at Savanna State Bank. She enjoyed the simple things, canning vegetables, making crock pickles, and homemade jelly. She had an artistic side that she dabbled in from time to time. Janet was known as the best cook by many high school boys who were hired as hay help for the summer. She always made a huge meal at lunch time for them. In her later years when she decided to retire, she moved back to her childhood home in Monroe, WI, where she enjoyed her leisure time around the house and yard. She lived there until her battle with Parkinson’s became too hard for her to live on her own. To receive the help she needed, she lived at Pleasant View Nursing Home the last two years where she passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
