Jamie Crawford
Jamie Crawford

Jamie Crawford, 67, of Hendersonville, N.C. passed away at his home on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Born in Freeport, Il, he was the son of Dolores Lenz West.

Jamie was taught to work hard to take care of his family by his mother, Dolores and grandmothers Francenia Millam and Myrtle Crawford. His Uncle Don and Aunt Dee Lenz were the shining examples of a strong and loving relationship as well as being family, mentors, and cherished friends. He also had a professional mentor, Phil Mittelstaedt, who taught him to follow the basics when you think everything is alright but it’s not.

Jamie worked many jobs over the years. His last job was as a site supervisor at CLA Builders. He also worked as a factory manager at Steelcase and as a cheese grader at JS Hoffman/Kraft cheese. He was a music enthusiast, especially live music, and follower of the Green Bay Packers.

Jamie always had a dry sense of humor and walked a fine line between witty and smartass. He was known for his people skills and quick comebacks. He was the strongest man we knew who overcame many health issues and was still there supporting his family.

Surviving are his wife and best friend, Christine, two daughters Melissa (Arron)Larson and Joelle Sterkowicz, son Joshua Crawford, granddaughters Sara Staszak, Alden Reid, Madasyn and Marianna Brenner, Zinnia Larson, grandsons Brian and Mason Brenner, and Jack Larson, sisters Gina (Jeff) Jones, Jeannine West, Amy (Jeff) Bardell and brothers Kirk (Tina) West and Dean (Rosemary) West.

He was preceded in death by mother, Dolores, brothers, Greg West and David Crawford, nephew Jeffrey Jones and grandparents.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service at Rock Lily Cemetery in Winslow, Il will be at a later date.
