James Schutte
James Schutte

Dear Family and Friends of James Schutte, it is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my brother James.

James was with Monique (his wife of 40 plus years) this morning, March 17, enjoying a terrific weekend day together. It ended when he told her he wasn’t feeling quite right, moments later it appears he suffered a life ending heart attack.

James was born September 7, 1955 in Madison, WI. James was the son of A. George and Algreta Schutte and the sixth child of seventeen children. He was an avid golfer, gardener, a great son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather and all-around terrific person to be associated with in either leisure or business. His son Matthew Schutte and daughter Jessica Brave Thunder are both reflections of their parents raising them to be great persons.

His loss will be felt by all who have ever met him. He was always inspiring, quick-witted and humorous. James served 21 years in the Army, then began his life in the private sector operating and managing several businesses.

He will be missed the most by his wife Monique Bibler-Schutte, his son Matthew, his daughter Jessica, son-in-law Edward Brave Thunder, grand-daughters Carmen and Chaela, his parents A. George and Algreta Schutte, his five sisters and eleven brothers. James was the uncle and great uncle to over 120 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A private service for his wife and children will be held in Vancouver Washington. A Celebration of Life will be held the last weekend of July at his parents’ home in Monroe, WI. As per James’ wishes, family and friends are requested to attend and celebrate.

Goodbye to a gentleman who is going to be greatly missed.
