James “Jim” Harms, age 51 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1973 the son of Stanley and Barbara (Mozoski) Harms. He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1991.
Jim worked at Orchid now known as UPG Electrical for five years and Brunsell in Madsion for 10 years. A highly skilled carpenter, he built a house from the ground up and remodeled many others. Jim enjoyed playing cribbage and going fishing in his free time. He had a vast knowledge of all sports and athletes, with a special love for baseball, and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. Above all Jim was a devoted father, he became a father in 2016 and was proud to be a dad and role model to his son, Joe.
Jim is survived by his son, Joseph Harms; father, Stan (Judy) Harms; siblings, Deborah (Daniel) Koonce, Jeffrey Harms, and Katherine (Tony) Bender; nieces and nephews, Kaela, Amanda, Nicole, Cory, Matthew, and Tara; and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; and grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
