JAMES DONALD GRIB
JAMES DONALD GRIB

James Donald Grib, cherished father, grandfather, and uncle, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2025, in Florida at the age of 87. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1938 to Joseph and Mary Ann Grib, James built a life rooted in love and family. In 1960, he married his devoted wife, Sue, in Missouri, and together they raised three children. He spent many years in Wisconsin before retiring to Florida, where he enjoyed being close to his family.

James proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. From 1956 to 1959, he was stationed in Germany, working in the electronic field shortly after the Korean War, and later received an honorable discharge from the United States Army Reserves in 1962.

He pursued higher education at the University of Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Botany. His love of learning led him to a long and fulfilling career teaching math and science. Later, he returned to school to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College, establishing a respected practice in Monroe, Wisconsin, where he cared for patients for more than 20 years. Beyond his professional life, James gave generously of his time and talents through community service as a dedicated Rotarian and faithful member of his church.

In retirement, James embraced life with curiosity and joy. He participated in bridge groups and Tai Chi, and delighted in traveling, reading, astronomy, painting, and gardening. Yet above all, his deepest devotion was to the study of scripture, a daily practice he faithfully upheld from the moment he placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior.

James is lovingly remembered by his devoted children: Jessica Wilder (Michael) of Florida, Elizabeth Kerns of Florida, and Thomas Grib (Mona) of Alaska. He took great joy in his three grandchildren, Kathryn Wilder, John Grib, and James Grib, who continue to honor his legacy. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and close friends whose lives were deeply touched by his presence.

James now reunites with those who preceded him in death, including his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Suetta England Grib, his parents, and his siblings Raymond Grib, Lorraine Mee, Virginia Grib, and John Grib.

James will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. A family Celebration of Life will be held on December 20, 2025. A committal service with full military honors is scheduled for June 2026, with further details to be shared with family and friends at a later date.

James’ family finds comfort in the assurance that he is resting in the arms of Jesus in paradise. With unwavering faith, we look forward to a joyful reunion with him on that glorious day. As Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
