James C. Knudson, age 72 of Monroe, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the V.A. Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 13, 1948 the son of John and Alice (Walrach) Knudson in Monroe. James was a 1967 graduate of Darlington High School.

James proudly served in the US Army for three years and the National Guard for 20 years. He worked for Dubuque Windows and Doors for many years, retiring in 2010. James loved spending time with his family, especially his nephew, Eric.

He is survived by his siblings: Sue (Clarence) Martin of Monroe, Linda Belke Brodhead, Carla Watts of Oakfield, Dave (Linda) Hawkinson of Gays Mills, and Larry Hawkinson of Platteville; many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Florence Knudson; parents; brother, Chuck Hawkinson; sisters, Donna Green and Judy Piette; and nephew, Eric Steiner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 15, 2020 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
