J. Richard “Rich” Whitney

J. Richard “Rich” Whitney, of Monroe, Wi, a proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born the son of Wayne and Kristine (Kucinski) Whitney on January 18, 1935 in Cherokee, Iowa. He graduated high school in Ware, Iowa with a class of only four students. Rich furthered his education at upper Iowa University where he earned his bachelors in business. Rich worked for Sears Roebuck for over 30 years where he met his beloved wife, Margie. He loved to golf and according to brother Ralph “he was a reasonably good fly-fisherman”. Rich was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Rich is survived by his brother, Ralph Whitney and two nieces, Laurie and Jenny; as well as numerous loving extended family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margaret “Margie” Whitney.

Private family services will be held at a later date with burial taking place in Mount Carmel, Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
