Harold F. Seffrood, age 89 of Darlington, WI formerly of Gratiot, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born July 27, 1931 in Wiota Township, WI, the son of Lester and Elsie (Meier) Seffrood. Harold grew up in Wiota Township, where he farmed with his brother, Wesley, until 1975. He then went to work for Wiota Lumber Company until his retirement in 2011. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 until 1955. He spent a summer working on the railroad with his brother, Dale, in Alaska in 1955.

Harold is survived by three brothers: Wesley (Marion) Seffrood of Wiota, Lawrence (Phyllis) Seffrood of Freeport, IL, and Donald Seffrood of South Wayne, WI; one sister-in-law: Eunice Seffrood of Milbank, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Dale Seffrood and Willard Seffrood; two sisters: Helen Nenneman and Gladys in infancy; one brother-in-law: Don Nenneman; and two sisters-in-law: Darlene and Ann Seffrood.

Harold was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church and a past member of its church council. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and was a scout master for many years. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews and the time they spent together.

A private family funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Road 78, South Wayne WI 53587) with Rev. Kate Kieckhafer of Grace Lutheran Church in Darlington officiating. Burial will be in West Wiota Cemetery in rural Gratiot where military graveside rites will be accorded by Bates-O’Brien-Howe-WIegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. A public visitation will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington).
