Harland Fuchs, age 85, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the SSM Health Hospital. He was born July 19, 1937 the son of Walter and Kathryn (Waelti) Fuchs. He attended school in New Glarus. Harland was united in marriage to Eileen Kraus on August 18, 1956 at St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Harland started his working career as an auto mechanic and then worked at Hughes Mobile Homes. Later he started Fox Mobile Homes with his brother, George where they repaired, set up and sold mobile homes. He also transported mobile homes, built concession and food trailers with his son, Jeff. Harland was a past member of the Monroe Moose Lodge, Duck’s Unlimited, and the President of Antique Wheelers. He enjoyed square dancing, card clubs, his antique cars and spending time with his family and friends. Harland was a handyman; he could fix anything.
Harland is survived by his sons, Craig (Darlene), Daniel (Jonelyn), and Jeffrey (Heidi) Fuchs all of Monroe; granddaughters, Jennifer (Daniel) Sills, Desire (Jeffrey) Alt, and Felisha Fuchs; grandson, Garrett Fuchs; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Alex Alt, Jaelynn Nyman and Wynter Hardin; sister, Esther (Lester) Stephens; and brother, Ronald (Jolene) Fuchs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen; sister, Kathleen (Frank) Herlein; brothers, Melvin Fuchs and George (Bonnie) Fuchs; and three nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
