Gloria Ann Thoman, age 93, of Monticello, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Monroe, WI. She was born the daughter of Amos and Kathryn (Gmur) Zimmerman on May 2, 1932, in Washington Township. She attended Purcell School in rural Monticello where she met Marvin Thoman. She was a graduate of Monticello High School. Marvin and Gloria were united in marriage on November 26, 1950, at Washington Reformation UCC. She dearly missed Marvin since his passing in 2016.
Gloria and Marvin farmed together in rural Monticello on Lone Pine Dairy for 54 years. Gloria was involved in all aspects of the farming operation. She kept books, milked cows, tended a garden, planted flowers, mowed and trimmed the lawn, loved her family, and made wonderful homemade meals for the family and many hired men and women. Gloria enjoyed driving the gator with Marvin to survey the crops and cattle and to marvel at the farming operation they built together. Gloria was a life-long member of Washington Reformation UCC and was a member of the Esther Circle. Gloria was an accomplished, left-handed bowler, and she loved music, dancing, and playing cards, especially Euchre, Horse and Pepper, and a fast game of Nertz.
Gloria is survived by two sons and two daughters, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild: Wayne (Pam Flannery) Thoman; Rachel (Jon) Rufer - Evan, Jacy (Logan Crooks) - Ryatt; Hillary (Dennis) Wood - Kaylea; Corrina Homulos (Kelly Silha) - Claira, Patrick; Jerry (Raven) Flannery - Bron, Vinda; Kathy (John) Reeter; Matthew (Heidi) Reeter - Reese, Rhett; Nicholas (Alyssa) Reeter - Naiya, Judson, Jared; Andrew (Angela) Reeter; Jennifer (Nick) Holmes; Guy (Wendi) Thoman; Heather (Brad) Hamlin - Ariana, Kinlee, Kayah, Valen, Mavrik; Adam Thoman; Haylee (Tom) Pendell - Henry, Avery; and Janis (Ron) Roesslein; Maegan (Eric) Holmes - Ava, Axton, Hallie; Maeci (Jake) Shropshire - a future great granddaughter; siblings: Grace (Dennis) Feller; Ilene Schneider; extended family, including Evelyn Thoman and Bradley Voegeli and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, a grandson, Wade Thoman, an infant great-grandchild, Halo Rain, her husband, brothers, Ralph (Mabel), Dwight (Mary Ann), and Gordon, sisters, Valerie (Bertrum) Torkelson and Kay (John) Krahenbuhl, and brother-in-law, Laverne Schneider.

Visitation will be held at Washington Reformation UCC, N6026 Church Road, Monticello, WI, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Gloria’s Life starting at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining Church Cemetery. The family will direct memorials to Washington Reformation UCC.
Gloria is now with the only one she ever wanted.
