Gary Alan Broege, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on January 18, 2026. Gary was born in Freeport, Illinois on December 27, 1946 to Raymond and Reta Broege.
Gary is survived by his wife Nancy (Meier) Broege, their children, Christopher (Jodi) Broege and Melissa (Aanon) Frivold; grandchildren Audrey Broege, Emily Broege, Tyler Frivold and Zachary Frivold along with nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronalde and his in laws Bill and Alma Meier.
Gary was drafted and served in the army as a part of the Vietnam campaign as a medic. He returned to Wisconsin and completed a tool and die apprenticeship, which started a lifetime journey as a tool and die maker. In 1989, he finally achieved his dream to start his own tool and die business. He was able to work with his son by his side for 37 years. With the ownership of his own business, it allowed him to join the Tool & Die Association of Wisconsin where he served a term as Vice President.
He enjoyed watching and supporting his children's activities. Gary enjoyed bowling in a league every Wednesday night. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91. He enjoyed Harley rides with his wife. Spending time with his grandchildren was his pride and joy.
Visitation will be from 10am - 12pm on Sunday January 25, 2026 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228 N Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) with a service to follow. A luncheon will be served after the service.
There will be a private burial Monday January 26, 2026 at Glenview Memorial Cemetery.
