Frederick Charles Neuenschwander

Frederick Charles Neuenschwander age 80, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Fritz was born on May 11, 1939 in Eau Claire, WI, to Fred and Mary (Schaller) Neuenschwander.

Fritz graduated from Monroe high School 1958. He was united in marriage to Joan C. Hauser on June 4, 1960.

Fritz grew up on the family farm in Monroe. In 1959 he started making cheese for Deppler Cheese Factory, he then went to the UW for Dairy Short Course in Madison and got his cheese makers license. He proceeded from there to make cheese in Dubuque, Iowa, then Loran, Illinois, at his own factory. He continued his career with Roy’s Dairy making butter, then he managed Brodhead Cold Storage. He went from there to co-own a cheese and gift shop in Neillsville, WI. From there he returned to Monroe, was retained for five years by Avonmore of Ireland. Avonmore was bought from Saputo of Canada and retained Fritz for four years. In 2012, Fritz started a partnership with Paul Barret as dairy brokers in the dairy industry. After 56 years of a varied and knowledgeable career in the dairy industry, he retired.

He was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe. Fritz loved football, fishing and golf. He loved eating limburger cheese with grape jam on it.

He loved being with old friends talking over old times. He always had a fun way to tease his wife, children and grandchildren. He always told his family they should never have to worry about being taken care of, he’d dig ditches if he had to.

Fritz is survived by his wife; Joan, children; Jody Barry of Stoughton, WI; Jill Neuenschwander of Richland Center; son Frederick Scott Neuenschwander V; grandchildren; Stoney, Cody and wife Elisha, and Skyler and wife Laura; seven great-grandchildren; Katelyn, Brodey, Trenton, Roslind, Lucy, Brody and Ashton; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Geraldine.
