Evelyn E. Binger, Age 103, of Monroe, died Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Evelyn was born on April 16, 1922 in Monroe, the daughter of William and Lydia (Blasing) Marean. She graduated from Juda High School in 1939, Green County Normal School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from U.W. Platteville. She was united in marriage to Ellsworth “Brownie” Binger on June 1, 1946 at Union United Methodist Church, Oakley. Evelyn taught in a one room schoolhouse in Twin Grove, Fairfield School, Davis, IL, and Lincoln Elementary in Freeport. She farmed along with her husband on the Binger home farm until 1984, later moving to Monroe in 1992.

She was a long time member of Oakley Union United Methodist Church and Green County Retired Educators. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, baking, and fishing. She was an avid Badger and Packer fan, and was always up for a game of Euchre or 500.

Evelyn is survived by four sons, Roy (LeAnn) of Petersburg, VA, Jerry (Karen) of Evansville, Steve (Debbie) of Black Earth, Don (Linda) of Beloit; nine grandchildren; eight step- grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 15, 2007; brother, Victor (Florence) Marean; and two sisters, Ruby (Walter) Regez, and Mary (Harold) Green.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Oakley Union United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jadyn Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakley Union Church Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Evelyn’s name for Union UMC.
