Erik. S. Dornink, 31, of Monroe formerly of the Freeport/Dakota area died Saturday February 16, 2019 at University Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born January 14, 1988 to Steve and Suzanne (Fiene) Dornink. Erik was a 2006 graduate of Dakota High School and 2010 graduate of Illinois State University. He was employed at Swiss Colony. Erik attended St. Paul Church of Epleyanna. He enjoyed traveling and at the age of 16 completed his first solo air plane flight. Erik loved to spend time with his family and found great joy in being an uncle to his nieces and nephew. Erik’s legacy will live on through his donation of seven organs.

 Surviving are his parents Steve and Suzie Dornink of Freeport; sister Rachel (Colin) Baker of Freeport; brother Evan (Lauren) Dornink of Freeport; nephew Jack Baker; nieces Elle Baker and Saylor Dornink; grandparents Ron and Dona Dornink of Freeport and Richard Fiene of Davis, IL; aunts and uncles Deb and Mike DiGvonni, Sally (Eddy) Scaman. Tamera and Tom Miller, and Kurt and Jamie Fiene; many close cousins; and partner Joey Lincicum. 

 Erik is preceded in death by his grandmother Jeanne.

 Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday February 22, 2019 at St. Paul of Epleyanna Church in Davis, IL with Rev. Dennis Jarrard officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Thursday February 21, 2019 also at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
