Emily K. Bystry, age 42, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at UW East Madison Hospital after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease. Emily was born the third of four daughters on March 1, 1981 in Beloit, WI, to Michael and Cheryl Bystry. She graduated from St. Victor Catholic School and was a 1999 graduate of Monroe High School. She worked as a CNA until she was no longer able. Emily enjoyed music, especially the Beatles. She was her own person.

Emily is survived by her children, Rage and Kohna Kalschuer, Alex Graham; parents, Michael and Cheryl Bystry; sisters, Jennifer Bystry  (her children, Tyler and Jadyn Phillips), Elizabeth Bystry (her children, Kyle and Kirstin Cole), Jessica Bystry (her daughter, Daisy Nybroten). She is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her two best friends, Tracy Williams and Elizabeth Bruno with whom she shared many adventures. Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bystry, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Ludwig.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, 1760 14th Street, Monroe, with Father Joseph Bellamkonda officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Huntington’s Disease Society of America, hdsa.org
