With profound sadness, the family of Ellen Kay (Radar) Tischler announces her peaceful passing on the morning of Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6:55 a.m., after a courageous two-year health battle. She was 78 years old.
Ellen was born on June 25, 1947, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Charles Radar and Nellie (Thompson) Radar. She attended Plattsmouth High School and later continued her education at Bellevue College.
On October 13, 1973, Ellen married the love of her life, George Francis Tischler Jr., in the LDS Ogden Utah Temple. Together they shared 52 years of marriage rooted in love, devotion, and faith.
Ellen was the proud and loving mother of Scott Ryan Tischler, Kristi Tischler, Brent Tischler, Jen Tischler, and Troy Tischler (married to Melissa Tischler). She was also a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Scott’s daughter, Eleanor Rain Tischler; Kristi’s children, Nathan Starr (wife Hanna), Sariah Starr, Spencer Starr, and Rylee Alverson; Kristi’s grandchildren (Ellen’s great-grandchildren), Autumn Starr and Aspen Starr, and Brent’s children, Alexander Jason, Kyra Anne, and Scarlett Isabella.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment with them.
Ellen’s early career was spent working with individuals with developmental disabilities in Omaha, Nebraska, where her compassion and patience blessed many lives. Later, she embraced her greatest calling as a full-time mother, pouring her heart into her family.
A woman of many gifts, Ellen was a master gardener, an artist and writer, and a creative spirit who shared her talents with the community by painting storefront windows for local businesses. She was admired for her creativity, her grace, and her warmth.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she found faith and fellowship.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Francis Tischler Jr.; her children and their families; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters: Julie Rader Duncan, Doris Boehm, Lois Plant, Curtis Rader, and Gordon Rader. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Diana and Bobby.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 714 24th Street, Monroe, WI 53566, United States. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, WI.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 12:45 AM at the church.

Her light, her love, and her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
