Dorothy Holloway, age 91, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at her home.  She was born on December 23, 1933 the daughter of John and Bertha (Peterson) Stauffer.  She graduated from South Wayne High School in 1953.  Dorthy was united in marriage to Merrill Holloway on December 9, 1953 in South Wayne. 

Dorothy worked at Paul Lawrence Grocery Store, Black Hawk cafeteria, Swiss Colony, and St. Clare Hospital where she was the supervisor of housekeeping, retiring in 1997.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in South Wayne.   Dorothy enjoyed cooking, garage sales, and traveling. 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Jeffrey Holloway of Monroe, Michael (Cindy) Holloway of Stillman Valley, IL, and Eric (Sonya) Holloway of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, Michelle, John, Marianne, Allyssia, and Thomas; 9 great-grandchildren.    

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merrill; brothers, Laverne, Robert, and William Stauffer; sister, Yvonne Jackson; and special friend Allan Schroeder.  

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.
