Donald Luchsinger

Donald Luchsinger, age 82, of Monticello WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at SSM Health Hospice House.  He was born March 19, 1942 at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe the son of Raymond and Freida (Gempler). He graduated from Monticello High School. On October 6th, 1962, he was united in marriage to Patricia Dorney at the Euclid Avenue Methodist Church in Oak Park, IL. Don was a dairy farmer on the Luchsinger family farm for many years.  After the farm was sold, he kept a bit a land and built his log cabin home. He then began a second chapter of his life as a Patrolman for Washington Township, a job he truly enjoyed for over 30 years. As a young man he was a proud member of Monroe Truck Equipment Tug of War team which gave him so many memorable weekends. After retirement, he volunteered at the Green Cares Food Pantry, doing woodworking projects at home for his kids and grandkids and taking drives around the county to check out the fields. He lit up every time he was around his grandchildren and loved to spend time with them.  He was always ready to help out his kids with home projects in exchange for a brandy old fashion and conversation. Don loved to travel. He spent several vacations with his kids and grandkids in Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, Florida and Colorado. He also enjoyed many vacations with his best friends Larry and Joyce Hummel. He was a member of the Washington Reformation Church.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughters Jacqueline, Dianne Facundo, Nicole Darrow and Shannon (Todd) Tschudy, grandchildren Cassandra and Jaxson Darrow, Nicholas and Alexander Facundo and Kyle and Mackenzie Tschudy.  He is further survived by a brother Gene (Audrey) Luchsinger, special nephew Shane, sisters Marion Wright, Carol Campbell, and Linda Casey, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa, brother Richard, his parents, and best friend Larry Hummel.
