Dean W. Signer, age 87, of Monroe, died on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Dimensions Living. Dean was born on January 8, 1939 in Monroe, the son of Joseph Anton and Gretta Claire (Camron) Signer. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Deanne Bowman on Feb. 19, 1961 at Grace Lutheran Church. Dean farmed in Jefferson and Clarno Township most of his life. He also was a salesman for Jung Seed and a worked as an agent for Clarno Mutual Insurance.

Dean was on the board of directors for Chalet Cheese COOP, enjoyed playing cards (especially Jass and Horse and Pepper), and was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting morels, coon hunting, and turtle hunting. His many excursions included antelope and mule deer hunting in Wyoming, black bear hunting in Northern Wisconsin, and Canadian fishing trips. He also could be seen wetting a line at the farm pond.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Deanne Signer; three children, Mark (Ardell) Signer and children, Kasey (Matt) Tousignant, Amber (Tony) Hernandez,  Craig (Tracy) Signer and children, Samantha (Nate) Smith, Nic Signer, Trevor Signer, Hallie (Connor) Ferguson, Cheryl (Ric) Blaine and children, Camron Blaine (Brittany), Jani (Cole) Brown. Dean is further survived by six great grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Karen) Signer; four sisters, Donna Young, Elaine Haddock, Nyla Signer, and Gwen (Phil) Robl; and sister-in-law, Madeline Bowman. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ulonda Dietmeier, Kathryn Signer; brother, Neil Signer; and a great grandchild.

Memorials services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. A luncheon will follow in Grace Lutheran fellowship hall. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
