Dean “Rough” Gilbertson, age 82 of Monroe, died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on May 13, 1937, the son of Gustav and Olga (Skattum) Gilbertson. He graduated from Monroe High School and served in the U.S. Army Infantry.  Dean married Lois Marie Rule on June 15, 1985. Dean was an over the road truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Gilbertson of Monroe; 2 step-children: Tina Olson and Tonya Bettis; 4 children: Shayne Gilbertson, Scott Gilbertson, Shelly Grinnell and Steven Gilbertson; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother, Roger Gilbertson; a sister, June Lusk; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Gordon, Lyle, Clyde and Kenneth; sisters: Opal, Margaret, and Elaine.

Per Dean’s wishes, no services will be held. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family.
