Darleen M. Broge, age 100, of Monroe, WI formerly of rural Darlington, WI, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home in Monroe. She was born August 16, 1924, in South Wayne Township in Lafayette County, WI the daughter of Hans and Lillie (Cox) Olson. Darleen lived in the South Wayne area until her marriage to Wilbert F. Broge on December 6, 1946, at East Wiota Lutheran Church Parsonage and they moved to Monticello where they farmed for 4 years. In 1951, they moved to rural Darlington where they farmed until they retired in 1982.

Darleen is survived by her children: Ron (Pat) Broge of Shullsburg, WI, Brenda Broge of Monroe and Sherry (Dan) Blumer of Albany, WI; 4 grandchildren: Jenna (Mike) Pegel, LuAnn (Scott) Wierzycki, Adam Broge, Nicolette (John) Pluss; and 9 great-grandchildren: Joshua, Gabriel, Isabella, Aiden, Evan, Jayden, Jaeli, Dax, Asher. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 8, 1994; one brother: Joseph Olson; and three sisters: Hattie Olson, Lusetta Hay, and Helen Broge.

Darleen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. She enjoyed gardening and then canning what she grew and sharing those items with her family and friends. Darleen loved to spend time by the water fishing with her family and cherished the time she spent being a farmer’s wife.
