Cynthia L. Robar, age 83, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home.  She was born on November 26, 1941 the daughter of William and Bonnie (O’Brien) Henning.  Cindy graduated from Monona Grove High School and attended UW Platteville.  On September 17, 1960 Cindy married James Robar at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Monona, they shared 65 years together.

Cindy served as a teaching assistant at McFarland Elementary and later as a teacher at Faith Community Church School. She loved to play cards and somehow always won, she was the family ping-pong champion, loved animals, and had a strong faith.  Cindy was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church. 

Cindy is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Scott (Carey) Robar, Laura (Gary) Leatherberry, and David (Jennifer) Robar; grandchildren, Jeffrey Robar, Cassandra Vogelsberg, Joshua, Carly, Matthew (fiancé, Madison), Allyson and Jonah Robar; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings, Linda (Aerie Day) McCormick, Kevin (Dee) Flicker, and Laurie Birkholz. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Jean Henning and Bonnie and Richard Flicker; step-brother, James Trolz; and brother-in-law, John Birkholz.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 Hope Evangelical Free Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Hunter and Pastor Rick Haworth co-officiating.  Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. 

A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at church.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
