Clara Anderegg Waelti of Monroe, WI, age 101, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024 after a sudden illness.  She was born on January 13, 1923 to John Sr. and Elizabeth Hotz Anderegg in Monroe, WI.  After graduating from Juda High School she went on to graduate from beauty school in Madison, WI.  Married C Thomas Waelti on December 13,1943 and they moved to Rockford, IL.  During their marriage, they had two daughters and owned and operated a gas station, confectionery and the Broadway Inn. Thomas passed away on December 20,1980 and Clara remained in Rockford, while working part-time as a hostess for the Top Hat Restaurant for many years  She moved back to Monroe in 2018. Clara’s most treasured time was spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dancing at Turner Hall, playing YASS and Euchre with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

 

Clara is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Larson of Stockton, IL; granddaughters, Cynthia (Matt) Servant of Roscoe, IL, Stacy (Dan) Simms of Roscoe, IL, and Krystle (Kyle) Erbe of Clarksville, TN; great-grandchildren, Mason Servant, Haley Simms, Talia Servant and Austin Simms all of Roscoe, IL; sisters, Margaret (Richard) Wyss, Ruth (Charles) Ingold; brothers, John (Hedy) Anderegg Jr., and Robert Anderegg; sister-in-law Leah Waelti; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Richard Mitchell; granddaughter, Candace Mitchell; and sisters, Lillian Cummings and Helen Furman. The family would like to thank the staff at SSM Hospice Monroe for the wonderful care and support given.

 

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
