Catherine Nipple of Albany, WI, died on Monday, February 2, 2026 after a three year journey through pancreatic cancer. She would like to thank the wonderful, kind staff of the Monroe SSM Oncology Dept. for their love and care during this time.
She was born on St. Patricks Day, 1948, to Guy and Carol (Broughton) Reasa. She was raised a “farm girl” and was proud of her rural heritage. Growing up on a 200 acre dairy farm between Attica and Dayton provided all the fun and trouble she and her brother, Michael, needed. There were always dogs, cats, calves, bunnies, and numerous other critters to love and care for as well as woods and farm fields to explore to their heart’s content!
Catherine graduated from Monticello High School in 1966, Racine Kenosha County Teachers College in 1968, and UW Platteville in 1972 with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She also loved taking craft and cooking classes at Black Hawk Tech. Education was high priority in her lifetime.
While teaching fifth grade in Albany for three years, Catherine met her husband of 54 years, Willis Nipple. Catherine also worked at Swiss Colony for nine years as a Communication Specialist and most recently was employed at CUNA Mutual Insurance Group as a Pension Technical Specialist. She loved to talk with people, so all these jobs fit her perfectly. She retired in 2008 from CUNA Mutual and loved her retirement.
During retirement, she had time to do all the things that she enjoyed like crafts, cooking, gardening, reading, and traveling. She took many one day tours with Coach USA to Chicago, Milwaukee, and towns all over Southern Wisconsin and Illinois. She and her husband traveled overseas to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Scotland, and Ireland.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Willis “Buck” Nipple; brothers and sisters–in-law, Carol Reasa, Nora Nipple; Garey (Connie) Niles, Warren (Penny) Nipple; Gordon Nelson; Aunt and Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William U’Ren; and too many beloved nieces and nephews to list.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Reasa, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Broughton; brother, Michael “Mick” Reasa; in-laws, Wayne Nipple; Walter (Lucy) Nipple; Lorraine Nelson, Audrey Nipple; nieces and nephews; and her sweet, dear friend, Kathleen Truethardt Gavigan.
Per Catherine’s request there will be no funeral. She will be cremated and inurned with a private family memorial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany.
If you would like to remember Catherine, donations are suggested to the Green County Humane Society, Green Cares Food Pantry, or any pancreatic cancer research foundation. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
