Caroline Rose Seffrood, age 88, of Monroe passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the SSM Monroe Hospice House. She was born the daughter of Frank and Ella (Rahberger) Wehinger on May 13, 1937 in Monroe. She was a 1955 graduate of South Wayne High School. Caroline was united in marriage to LeRoy Seffrood on February 1, 1958 in Gratiot.
Caroline farmed alongside her husband most of her life. She was a member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church of Christ the King Pastorate in Monroe. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing puzzles, baking, and listening to classic country music.
Caroline is survived by her sons, Bruce (Lory) Seffrood of Sauk Prairie and Scott (Laurie) Seffrood of Monroe; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, LuAnn Krahenbuhl, and Dilly (Sam) Nafzger all of Monroe; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Frances Mitchell, Tillie Swanson, Marian Hartwig, and Josie Goodman; brothers, Carl Wehinger, Connie (Karen) Wehinger; and granddaughter, Morgan Faye.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Father Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will follow service in Union Cemetery in South Wayne. A luncheon to celebrate Caroline’s Life will follow the burial at the Village Inn in South Wayne.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
