Carole A. Broge, age 87, of Gratiot passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 surrounded by her family at home.  She was born on March 14, 1939 the daughter of Jesse and Carolyn (Fitch) Elliott.  Carole graduated from Lucy Flower High School in Chicago, IL.  On May 15, 1974 Carole was united in marriage to Clifford Broge. 

Carole worked as a dairy farmer alongside her husband until retiring in 2000. She was a faithful member of Wiota Lutheran Church for 35 years, where she served on the church council and was the secretary for three years. She also volunteered countless hours serving as secretary, treasurer, and working the stockyards in Darlington for the NFO as well as serving on the Blackhawk School Board for eight years, and helping at the blood mobile. In addition, she participated in the Naomi and Lois Circles of WELCA.  Carole enjoyed fishing and she loved traveling to see her family.  Above all else she found the most joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Carole is survived by her children, Martin Tengowski of Park Falls, WI, Myron Tengowski of Madison, Amy (Tom) Warner of Pigeon Forge, TN, Eric Broge of Monroe, and William (Debbie Champion) Broge of Gratiot; step-children, Gloria (Ardell) Kopp of Brodhead, Marvin Broge of Monroe, and Gaylord (Jean) Broge of Brodhead; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sister, Diana (Richard) Foutz of Ft. Wayne, IN; and sister-in-law, Mary Elliott of AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Michael and Mark Tengowski; grandson, Brent Broge; brothers, James and Alan Elliott; two step-daughters, Rita Hanson and Wanda Wiegel; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Tengowski. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Wiota Lutheran Church with Pastor Clayton Faulkner officiating.  Burial will follow at Saucerman Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church.  Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home assisting the family.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net.
