Carl Richard Snyder, formerly of Winona Lake, Indiana and Monroe Wisconsin passed away at 8:28 a.m. on Saturday June 6, 2020 at the Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana at the age of 94.

He was born on September 14, 1925 in Shippenville, Pennsylvania in Paint Township. He was the son of James Levi and Hazel Elizabeth (Groce) Snyder. He married Lois Lucille Stewart on January 20, 1948 in Brookville, Pennsylvania. They shared 57 years of marriage together, before she passed away in February 2005. Carl married again on May 27, 2006 in Winona Lake, Indiana to Rita Joan (Galliers) Schobert Snyder, who survives.

Carl graduated from clarion High School in Clarion, Pennsylvania in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy that same year and served during WWII from December, 7 1943 until his honorable discharge on June 12, 1946. After Naval service he worked in the electrical transformer industry at Sharon, Pennsylvania till 1958 and Chicago, Illinois till 1968. In 1968 He joined North American Phillips in Boscobel, Wisconsin and later transferred to Monroe, Wisconsin. He was the production manager for transformers and later the quality control supervisor for the transformers, after 21 years he retired in 1989.

Carl was a member of the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Warsaw where he also served as a Stephen Minister. While in Monroe, he was a lay minister at the United Methodist Church. In Warsaw he was a longtime member of the Kiwanis club. He was a member of the Mason Order Loyal Lodge of Skokie, Illinois since 1965 and continued his Masonic work in the Warsaw lodge where he became a Master Mason. Carl will be missed by all.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 14 years Rita Joan Schobert Snyder (Fishers, Indiana); daughters: Beth (Michael) Laxton (Blue River, Wisconsin); son Allen C. (Christine) Snyder (Lombard, Illinois); three step-daughters: Dr. Carol Schobert (Flat Rock, North Carolina); Martha (Charles) Heinrich (Indianapolis, Indiana); Nancy Jones (Brownsburg, Indiana). He leaves behind ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; two sisters: Jane (Rev Fred) Bell (Garretsville, Ohio; Sarah Snyder (Clarion, Pennsylvania) and two brothers: Larry Snyder (Clarion, Pennsylvania); Lee (Denise) Snyder (Apollo, Pennsylvania). He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lois Stewart Snyder, daughter, Helen (husband: Louis in July 2017) Chesterman in July 2018, two brothers: Glenn Snyder in 1946; Ivan Snyder in 1994; four sisters: Lavena Cox in 1975; Pearl Snyder in 2017; Helen Smith in 2018; and Vera Moore in 2019.

A private family graveside service took place at the Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, Wisconsin on July 18, 2020 as he was interred alongside his first wife, Lois.
