Brian Leslie Leighty, age 55, of Browntown passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his home. Brian was born on May 18, 1963 the son of Leslie and Ellen (Peters) Leighty in Chicago, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Cherie Ann Lartz on June 19, 1999 in Rock City, IL. He was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church in Browntown.

Brian was a mechanic for Steve Folk Trucking Company for the past 10 years. He had a great work ethic, he enjoyed fixing things; and could fix just about anything.   

Brian is survived by his mother, Ellen Leighty of Browntown; children, Nicole (Juan) Ramirez of Brodhead, Jacob Leighty of Brodhead, and Ashley (Cris) Shore of Rock City, IL; nine grandchildren; and sister Beth (Jeff Martz) Flannery of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie; wife, Cherie; and step-son, Dan Lartz.

Per Brian’s wishes private family services will be held with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will take place at Jordan Lutheran Cemetery in Browntown. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
