Betty Jean Dunlavey, age 79, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her home. She was born the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Broege) Boeck in Monroe. She attended Belleville schools. Betty was united in marriage to Robert J. Dunlavey on February 27, 1960 in Belleville; he preceded her death on April 20, 2020.

Betty worked for Oaktron Industries, later known as MiTek, for many years. When her children were young Betty served as a Den Leader for the Boy Scouts and helped with 4-H activities. She enjoyed painting ceramics, attending craft shows, and fishing.

Betty is survived by her children, Doreen (Randy) Babler of Monroe, David (Karri) Dunlavey of Mineral Ridge, OH, Kim (Gary) Schwartzlow and Daniel Dunlavey both of Monroe; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha (Mike) Funk, Larry Boeck, Linda (Steve) Pernot; and sisters-in-law, Karen Dunlavey and Joanne Boeck; and many nieces and nephews.

She preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Frederick Boeck and Barbara Neuenschwander.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 4-7PM, at the funeral home.

A public Celebration of Robert’s Life will also be held following Betty’s service at his daughter, Kim’s house 1712 23rd Ave. Monroe.
