Bette J. Hanson, age 82, of New Glarus, WI, formerly of Argyle, WI, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2025. She was born on September 23, 1942, in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of Fred R. Simpson and Bernadine J. (Myers) Simpson. She was raised in Monroe, WI, and graduated from Monroe High School. She was united in marriage in 1960 to Harold James Kline, having one child, Kelley Rae Kline.
In 1963, she married Richard E. Hanson, moving to Argyle. They had a son, Richard "Richie" E. Hanson Jr. She worked doing various things; cleaning houses, waitressing, bartending, and working at Argyle Industries for 27 years until they closed.
She was on the 1st women's water fight team at the Argyle Fire Department and played women's slow pitch. She loved to play Euchre and go to garage sales.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Richie, and two sisters: Sally Jane Hain and Rita Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter: Kelley Kline of Merton, Wi; and two sisters: Sherry Sue Shinkle of Greely, CO, and Sondra J. Schwulst of Soda Springs, CO.
