Arthur W. Andrews, age 97, of Monroe, died Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Art was born December 1, 1928 in Shullsburg, WI, the son of Mervin and Mildred (Newsom) Andrews. He graduated from Darlington High School and married Anna Mae Brown on May 29, 1948 in Apple River, IL. The couple farmed in the Darlington and Apple River area for many years before moving to Monroe in 1969. Art also was employed at Advance Transformer before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge #754, was an avid sports fan, and was always up for a game of Euchre. He loved spending time with his family, especially all the grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Andrews; six grandchildren, Salena (Josh) Allen, Lindsay (Mike) Foy, Miranda Andrews, Kyle Andrews, Alyshia (Matt) Sathoff, Matt (Sofia) Schafer; eleven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Dorthea (Ken) Rufer, Evelyn Dettwiler; daughter-in-law, Deb Andrews; son-in-law, Wayne Martin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Mae, in 1996; son, Harold Andrews; daughter, Diane Schafer; grandson, Harold James Andrews Jr.; great grandson, Austin Andrews; great-great grandson, Hudson Allen; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Roger Bronkema officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge.
