Arnold J. Gudenkauf, 90, of Monroe, WI died at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, March 21, 2021 in Pleasant View Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born June 13, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Emma (Niehaus) Gudenkauf. Arnold married Margaret A. Summer in Rockford, IL on April 11, 1953. Entered into the U.S. Army for two years. After he was Discharged, he began farming in Ridott, IL and moved to Orangeville, IL farming there from 1966 until 2015 when he retired. Former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, IL and has attended St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Monroe, WI. Member of Stephenson County Farm Bureau; he was honored as 1973 Conservation Farmer of the Year by Stephenson County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Pleasant View Nursing Home for all their tender loving care given to our Dad.

Survivors include: daughters Karen Gudenkauf of Mebane, NC, Jean (Jerry) Gadamus of Iola, WI and Joan (Michael) Schollmeier of Peoria, IL; son James (Sandra) Gudenkauf of Monroe, WI; grandson Eric; sister Betty Marschke; brother Alvin (Judy) Gudenkauf; sister Mary (Richard) Stanley; numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, wife, infant son Joseph, daughter Anne; sister Norma Boehm.

A Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 in St. Mary Catholic Church- 606 W. Main St Durand, IL with burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel 101 Main Street, Durand, IL from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday.
