Arlie Fahrney, age 90, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the SSM Health Hospice Home. Born in Monticello, WI to Walter and Helen (Hirshbrunner) Fahrney on February 10, 1935. He attended Albany High School and the Wisconsin Institute of Technology at Platteville. He served two terms on the Albany Village Board. He was on the Advisory Committee for the welding department at Black Hawk Tech for ten years. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Waldron DD699. He worked for Monroe Truck Equipment for 32 years, retiring in 1997. Arlie and his loving wife have enjoyed the winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
Arlie is survived by his wife; Susan; five children, Bruce of Madison, Jamie (Bobette) of Monroe, and Stacey (Jeff) Olson of Brodhead, Dennis Kittel of Slinger, and Leslea (Brad) Helgeson of New Holstein; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Betty Lorfeld.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Zach Bloom officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arlie’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shgfuneralhome.net
