MONROE — Three Youth in Government representatives were sworn in at the Monroe City Council meeting Monday for the 2019-20 term. They will spend the year learning about and experiencing city government as youth alders.

It is the second year of participation for Monroe High School sophomores Quinn Moorman and Marissa Vosberg, both 15, and the third for 16-year-old junior Rebekah Rath.

The offices of Congressman Mark Pocan and Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin sent representatives to the meeting to commend the teens for their civic engagement.

Three additional students — Aiden Lambert, Francisco Ocampo and Olivia Wiegel — were not present at the swearing-in but will also participate this year.
