BLANCHARDVILLE - The Friends of Yellowstone Lake State Park are planning a Candlelight Hike and Bonfire from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the park.

Glowing luminaria will line the path through the woods and along the dike above the frozen lake. Participants can warm up at the bonfire with a hot cup of cocoa or apple cider. The 1-mile Wildlife Loop is an easy trail near the park office and restrooms will be open. The event is designed to be family-friendly.

The event is free but a state park admission sticker/fee is required. Donations to Friends of Yellowstone will go toward an outdoor education station kiosk. For more information, contact the park office at 608-523-4427 or friendsofyellowstone@hotmail.com.
