GREEN BAY - John Wright, Deputy Clerk/Plan Administrator of New Glarus, recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's 2011 Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute, held in July.
The week-long institute, which consists of continuing education training courses, is designed to advance the professional development of local government officials in Wisconsin. The course work focuses on the development of technical skills, learning state statutes and regulations, administrative knowledge, leadership, and financial management.
Local government officials completing the three-year sequence of programs earn all of the education points needed for national certification, with additional points earned by experience in local government and participation in other meetings and educational seminars.
