MONROE - During the week of April 25th Dane County Contracting installed 300 feet of water main along 9th Street from the 1400 block through 15th Avenue including stubbing the water main, north and south, out of the intersections of 15th Avenue.

Dane County Contracting also started the installation of sanitary sewer at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 9th Street and progressed to 12th Avenue. They installed 325 feet of 10 inch sewer main and reconnected the sewer and water services to the new main lines of sanitary sewer and water main.

Rock Road Companies continued with the installation of 12", 24", and 24" x 38" elliptical concrete storm sewer pipe from 8th Avenue to 9th Avenue. They have completed about 615 feet of storm sewer installation. Rock Road has started to excavate the subsoil of the street where storm sewer is completed for 200 feet on either side of the bridge.

After the soil excavation they placed the initial layer of breaker run for the street base.

Next week Dane County Contracting will continue with the sanitary sewer main installation along 9th Street from 12th Avenue working towards 16th Avenue.

They will install sanitary sewer services up to the property line (back of sidewalk) and re-connect water services up to the terrace as they work down the street towards 15th Avenue. Once the new water services are connected, the final connection of the new water main will be completed at the Avenue intersections abandoning the old water main in 9th Street.

Once they get up to 15th Avenue with the sanitary sewer main, Dane County Contracting will continue with the water main installation from 15th Avenue working East.

Next Week Rock Road Companies will continue with storm sewer installation along 8th Street from the bridge to 10th Avenue.

After the new storm sewer is installed they will excavate the subsoil of the street for the installation of new street base from STH 69 to 10th Avenue.

Once they are complete with the storm sewer installation and street base in this area they will move on to the removal of concrete pavement from 10th Avenue to 13th Avenue.

This should happen late next week. Once the concrete pavement is removed the will install the storm sewer in this section and then remove the subsoil and install street base before moving on to the next section to the east.

All intersections will remain open for cross traffic the majority of the time, except when they have to install utilities through the intersection.

The intersections will be completely barricaded when this is happening as well as partial closure at the prior intersection. Otherwise the barricades will be offset to allow for cross traffic.
