BRODHEAD - Construction work on two sections of Wisconsin 81 in Green and Rock counties is scheduled to begin next week.
The three-mile western section of Wis. 81 construction will occur between Wisconsin 11 to just east of Willow Creek near the Green and Rock county line. The 1.6-mile eastern section is located between Paddock Road and the Beloit city limit in Rock County.
The two sections of Wis. 81 will be closed to through traffic during construction. Local access will be maintained. The posted detour routes for through traffic are:
• Eastbound Wis. 81: Wis. 11 to Wis. 213
• Westbound Wis. 81: Wis. 213 to Wis. 11
Wis. 81 will remain open between the two construction segments.
Construction will entail new highway pavement and bridge rehabilitation. The project is currently scheduled for completion in early November.
