ARGYLE — Construction on Wis. 78 from Argyle to Blanchardville is scheduled to start Wednesday, April 20 and complete by Friday, June 17.

The project will follow the highway from South Hillcrest Road on north side of Argyle (adjacent to Argyle High School parking lot) to Lien Court on south side of Blanchardville.

From April 20-22, traffic will be restricted to a single lane with flagging operations during daylight working hours while crews remove trees in the guardrail grading areas.

From April 25 to May 6, the work zone will only be accessible to local residents, local businesses and emergency personnel. Work crews will be replacing four culvert pipes, removing cable guards, grade slopes and installing new guardrails at four locations. They will also be mud jacking and raising existing concrete approach slabs at Sawmill Creek and Pecatonica River bridges.

The detour route will be Wis. 81 to Wis. 11 to Wis. 69 to Wis. 39.

From May 9 to June 17, traffic will be restricted again to a single lane with flagging operations during daylight working hours while crews mill and pave new asphalt, gravel the shouldering, create centerline rumble strips and paint pavement markings.
