Winter storm warning issued

MONROE - A winter storm could bring as much as six to nine inches of snow to Green and Lafayette counties by Sunday night, Dec. 22.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the area Friday, Dec. 20 in effect from 6 p.m. today to 6 p.m. Sunday.

A period of heavy snow is expected late tonight with the highest amounts of accumulation from Darlington to Janesville.

The high temperature for today is expected to reach 30 degrees with a low of 16. Sunday is expected to reach a high in the mid 20s with a low of 4.
