NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Police Department is reminding drivers parking on the street overnight that winter alternate side parking regulations are in effect.
Warnings are being issued and parking citations will not be issued until the first significant snowfall arrives. Once this occurs, alternate parking citations will continue to be issued for the remainder of the season.
Alternate side parking regulations require anyone parking on a village street to park on the even or odd side, which corresponds to the date and house number. Enforcement takes place after midnight, so the date will be that of the time of enforcement. There are exceptions to the ordinance, so call the New Glarus Police Department at 527-2145 with questions.
